AREAS OF INVOLVEMENT
- Procedures/Mechanisms relating to employment, transfers, promotions, demotions, suspensions, terminations, discipline, grievance, retrenchments, etc.
- Trade Union contact and all relevant documentation, meetings, negotiations.
- Adherence to industrial legislation.
- Dispute Mechanisms.
- Communication structure.
- Competence of Managerial / Supervisory staff in Industrial Relations area and ability to handle relevant procedures / mechanisms.
- Mechanisms relative to implementing / amending operational requirements, terms, conditions, etc. - where these may affect workforce.
- Terms and Conditions of employment.
- Reporting relationships/Management structure.
- Equitable remuneration /compensation structures
BASIS OF CONSULTATION
We undertake to provide a qualified, experienced Employment Relations practitioner who will, as required and agreed by
yourselves, personally ensure that aspects such as the following are in place;
practical, workable and meeting the needs of the Company:
2.1 PROCEDURES:
- Grievance
- Retrenchment
- Disciplinary,including warning procedure, hearings, appeals,incapacity,etc.
- Other, e.g. overtime, recording of hours, wage payments, appraisals, etc.
2.2 CONFLICTS / DISPUTES / INDUSTRIAL ACTION:
Mechanisms/strategies to deal with in order to avoid/minimise disruption or loss.
2.3 INDUSTRIAL LEGISLATION:
- Bargaining Council Agreement, where applicable.
- Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
- Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.
- Other applicable legislation.
2.4 TRAINING:
- Staff to be trained in order to be capable of dealing with necessary aspects at applicable levels (preferably lowest level possible).
- Skills, Supervisory and Management Training.
- Specific residential training courses/seminars run for your staff are not included.
2.5 EMPLOYMENT EQUITY (AFFIRMATIVE ACTION) AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT ACTS
- Advise on Employment Equity Action Programs and strategies (where applicable).
- Advise on Skills Development Act requirements.
2.6 AVAILABILITY:
Consultant will be contactable at all reasonable times in order to advise on, direct or personally deal with any appropriate matter.
Pts. 2.1 to 2.6 above will, for the foreseeable future, be dealt with the Consultant personally.
