LABOUR BROKING

Our aim is to provide the top twenty percent qualified drivers in the country to our clients. We have an extensive recruitment process in which we make sure that we are only dealing with the best. We are confident that our unique process is suitable for what we want to achieve.

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

    1. Application Process:

    The driver applies with Manna, all his details are checked to make sure he meets the minumum requirements i.e. licence, age, experience. His basic reading and writing skills are also assessed.

    2. Reference Checking:

    The driver’s previous employers are contacted to gain a understanding of his previous employment. The information asked includes the following:

    • Empoyment duration
    • Employment duties
    • Reason for leaving the company
    • Whether he is reliable
    • Whether he was ever involved in any accidents
    • Whether the company will employee him again if they had the opportunity.

    3. Criminal checking

    A preliminary criminal check is done by the S.A. Criminal Bureau

    4. Kroll MIE

    This is the largest background screening company in the world. We do the following checks:

    • Criminal check
    • ID validation
    • Licence and PDP verification
    • Credit checks
    • Verification of qualifications (including school)

    5. Psychomotor evaluation

    This test helps us identfy the average drivers from the above average drivers. This is a psychometric evaluation done with a testing machine and a computer. This evaluation tests various skills and abilities of the driver to see where his weaknesses lie and whether he will be a suitable driver. The psychomotor evaluates the following:

    The candidates are scored after this test into 3 categories: A,B and C candidates. We only employ A and B+ candidates.

Test 1: 2-hand Co-ordination

  • Trainability of the candidate
  • The ability to increase both speed and accuracy of performance
  • Hand-eye co-ordination

Test 2: Determination Test

  • Hand-eye-foot co-ordination, auditory discrimination
  • Reaction abilities under normal conditions, stress conditions and recovery from stress
  • Impulsivity
  • Reaction times

Test 3: ZBA

  • The ability to estimate speed, distance and direction of a moving object

Test 4: Cognitrone

  • Level of concentration and spatial perception
  • The ability to identify shapes of signs in reasonable time

Test 5: Signal Detection

  • The candidates ability to perceive small changes in the environment
  • Concentration in an unstimulating environment
  • Impulsivity
  • Eye-sight quality

A Report is given for the above test

6. Medical Assessment

A medical assessment is done by a qualified doctor. The tests done are:
  • A basic physiological test
  • Blood pressure
  • Urine analysis (diabetes)
  • Visual acuity
  • *ECG
  • *Lung function
  • *Gamma GT (liver function to detect alcohol usage)
  • *Cannabis screening
  • *Audiological
  • *Only done on Client’s request

In-Cab assessment

The company with which the driver is placed, tests the driver to see whether he meets their requirements in terms of driving abilities.
